This Awesome Café Racer started out as an original stock factory SR500 unit with just a little over 11,000 miles since new. The bike was stripped down and the frame was sent off for powder coating. In keeping with the traditional Café Racer design theme a sleek racing style fuel tank with quick release filler Cap was chosen and sent off along with fenders and seat cowl to the painter for a High Gloss Battleship Gray paint job with Black Racing Stripes. The original seven spoke wheels were restored  as needed and fitted with new Bridgestone Battlax BT45-R tires 100/90-19 Front & 190/80 18 Rear. New Brakes & master cylinders were also installed. Bike was assembled using all new high grade Bolts, Nuts & fasteners throughout the build. New custom wiring, custom cables, Lines & hoses also installed along with a new performance final drive chain. Stock speedo and tach assembly, along with the headlight and braking system detailed and installed.  The motorcycle also sports custom electrics, street tracker style handlebars, compression release, switch gear, custom hand grips and a traditional racer seat finished in Black Leather with Suede Surface complete the look. The 499cc High Compression single cylinder thumper is Kick Start Only and was taken down for inspection and complete cleaning and detail. Side cases are Highly Polished factory pieces.  For added performance a Mikuni flat slide carburetor with aluminum Air Horn was added along with a great looking and sounding custom exhaust system. Power is sent through a 5 speed transmission and chain final drive. Bike is super fun to ride, tons of Torque, and always draws lots of attention.

The origin of this bike began with the YAMAHA TT dirt bike with its tree stump pulling power was a brut of a motorcycle and was not for the beginner or faint of heart! The XT Enduro was produced using the same thumper of a motor and was an excellent machine for cow trailing or any off-road adventure. A few years later, Yamaha had the bright idea to take that same 500cc four stroke single motor and throw it in to a conventional street chassis and, as a result, the SR500 was born. This CAFÉ RACER is the end result of Much research and many hours of hard work.
