AMAZING 2 OWNER BIKE WITH JUST 6,386 MILES

This 1989 Honda GB500 is finished in metallic Black Green and powered by an air-cooled 499cc single paired with a five-speed transmission. Equipment includes 18″ alloy rims, a front disc brake, both electric and kick starters, clip-on handlebars, a side stand, and a black solo seat. The bike was acquired by its current owner in May 2020 and was subsequently modified with a custom stainless-steel exhaust system, Progressive fork springs, Ikon shocks, a Shorai lithium-ion battery, Rizoma bar-end turn signals and mirrors, a 36-tooth rear sprocket, a braided front brake line, smaller front reflectors, and a vintage-styled front fender. Cosmetic work included refinishing the engine covers, fork lowers, headstock, fenders, chain guard, and more. Service under current ownership included adjusting the valves, overhauling the fork, changing the oil, and replacing the chain, front sprocket, tires, oil breather and tube, horn, grips, and foot peg rubbers. This GB500A shows 6k miles and is offered on dealer consignment with manufacturer’s literature, removed components, and a clean California title.

The bike is finished in metallic Black Green accented by gold pinstripes and logos, with clear protection film having been applied to the rear of the 4.4-gallon fuel tank. The fenders and chain guard are finished in silver, with the front fender being a Japanese-market item. Additional features include a black double-cradle frame with a single downtube, aluminum foot peg brackets, a side stand, and a black solo seat with a removable cowl for the cafe racer-style hump. Smaller Honda reflectors were fitted to the headlight ears, and the horn and foot peg rubbers were replaced.

Wire-spoke wheels laced with 18″ D.I.D alloy rims were mounted with Bridgestone Battlax BT46 tires during current ownership. Braking is from a 282mm drilled disc and a twin-piston caliper with a braided black line up front as well as a 140mm drum at the rear. Suspension consists of an overhauled fork with Progressive springs and replacement seals as well as dual adjustable Ikon shocks mounted to the box-section steel swingarm. The rubber fork gaiters were removed, and the fork lowers were polished and coated with clear lacquer.

Aluminum clip-on handlebars are mounted above the upper triple clamp and carry replacement grips and Rizoma bar-end turn signals and mirrors. Instrumentation includes a 115-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 7,700-rpm redline and inset indicators for the taillight, turn signals, neutral gear selection, and high beam. The brake master cylinder and fuse cover were repainted in metallic gray. The five-digit odometer shows 6k miles, 2,500 of which were ridden by the seller.

The air-cooled 499cc SOHC single was factory-rated at 38 horsepower and 26 lb-ft of torque. Features include a hemispherical combustion chamber with four radial valves, dry sump lubrication, a 42mm Keihin round-slide carburetor, and a custom stainless-steel exhaust system with dual header pipes and a removable silencer insert. The crankcase covers were polished and sprayed with clear lacquer, and the carburetor was re-jetted and dynamometer-tuned after the exhaust installation. A replacement oil breather tank and tube were installed along with a Shorai lithium-ion battery and a charger connection. The valves were adjusted in November 2020, and a July 2021 service included changing the oil as well as cleaning and adjusting the chain.

Power is sent to the rear wheel through a five-speed transmission, a replacement front sprocket and drive chain, and an aluminum 36-tooth rear sprocket that is one-tooth smaller than stock.
